How It Works

01Track

Prices recorded every 20 minutes from the moment odds open.

02Rank

Each price compared with the first one. Biggest moves on top.

03Grade

Every drop marked won, lost or void after full-time.

Which price is used?

The market average: the mean of the 5 bookmakers' prices for that outcome at each check. One bookmaker's error isn't counted as a move. A check needs at least 3 of them to count.

What does "Odds: Average" in the header do?

It picks whose prices the site shows. Average is the market average. Pick a bookmaker and every price, ▲▼ move, chart and summary on every page shows that bookmaker's own prices instead; "—" means it has no price there. The choice is remembered on this device. Which matches count as drops, the grading and the steam record always use the market average, and "Best price" is always the best of the 5 bookmakers.

Which bookmakers make the average?

Pinnacle, Betfair Exchange, 1xBet, Marathonbet and William Hill, whichever of them price the match. They are the bookmakers shown on the site.

What is the first price?

The market average at the first scan after odds open for the match. We call it "First" — it is the first price we recorded, not a bookmaker's opening line.

What is "Now"?

The market average at the latest scan before kick-off.

How is the move worked out?

(Now − First) ÷ First, shown as a whole percent. Negative is a drop (▼ red): the price got shorter. Positive is a rise (▲ green): the price got longer.

What counts as a drop?

A fall of 5% or more from the first price to the last price before kick-off. Drops are grouped by size: 5–10%, 10–20% and 20%+.

What is the best price?

The highest single-bookmaker price for that outcome at the latest scan.

How are drops graded?

After full-time, on the 90-minute score (1X2 settles on 90 minutes, so extra time and penalties don't count). A drop wins if its outcome happened and loses if not. Postponed, cancelled or abandoned matches, and matches still unfinished 72 hours after kick-off, are void.

How is profit counted?

1 unit on every drop at the market average at kick-off (the typical price, not the best one): price − 1 if it won, −1 if it lost, 0 if void. Void drops are left out of the won %. The best price is shown beside it so you can see where it was.

Why "Not enough matches yet"?

Any group with fewer than 20 graded drops shows this instead of a percentage, so small samples don't mislead.

Do dropping odds always win?

No. The steam record shows how often they did, losses included.

What are dropping odds?

A price that has shortened a lot before kick-off, usually after money or news came in on that outcome.

How often do dropping odds win?

Every drop is graded after full-time. The steam record shows the numbers, losses included.

What do the ▲▼ arrows on the Matches page mean?

▼ red: the market average has dropped 2% or more since the first price we recorded. ▲ green: it has risen 2% or more. Smaller moves show no arrow. Dropping Odds lists the drops of 5% or more.

How often are prices updated?

Every 20 minutes from 08:00 to midnight, for every match ahead, and again 1 hour and 10 minutes before kick-off. No checks between 00:00 and 08:00. Odds open 1–14 days before kick-off, so a competition appears about 14 days before its matches.

What is the payout?

What you get back on a full 1X2 market: 100% minus the bookmaker margin. Higher is better.

How is the bookmaker ranking made?

For every match in the last 30 days we take each bookmaker's last price before kick-off on 1, X and 2, and count how often it was the highest (its best-price share). Ties count for every bookmaker on the top price.

What is the margin?

On a full 1X2 market, 1/home + 1/draw + 1/away − 1. It is what the bookmaker keeps; lower is better for you.

Which bookmakers are ranked?

Bookmakers with at least 200 prices in the last 30 days. The ranking updates every morning.

What are the favourite and the underdog?

Of the two teams, the favourite has the lower odds at kick-off (the market average) and the underdog the higher. The draw is neither.

How do the Steam Record filters work?

Choose drops or rises (moves of 5% or more), a period, and any leagues, sides (1, X, 2), favourite or underdog, move sizes and odds at kick-off. Every number then counts only the moves that match. Won is out of the decided picks (voids left out); profit is 1 unit on each at the market average at kick-off; ROI is profit divided by the units staked.

What are "big drops" on the Leagues page?

Upcoming matches with a drop of 10% or more.

Members: when is a coupon settled?

After full-time, on the 90-minute score. A coupon is lost as soon as one pick loses; it is won when every pick is won or void.

Members: what is a void pick?

A match postponed to another day, cancelled or abandoned, or an awarded result. A void pick counts as odds 1.00.

Members: can I change a coupon?

Until its first match kicks off. Saving the change locks all the odds again at the current prices.

Members: what is the stake?

A paper stake from 0.5 to 100,000. Nobody bets on this site. It is locked when you save; statistics and ROI use it.

Members: what are Closing and CLV?

Closing is the last price at the same bookmaker before kick-off. CLV (closing line value) is how much better your locked odds were; positive over many coupons is the best sign of skill, not luck.

Members: what are ROI and which coupons count?

ROI is profit ÷ total staked (yield); void coupons are left out because their stake came back. Only settled coupons count, by the time they settled.

Is anything edited by hand?

No. All numbers are automatic.

What time zone are times in?

Your own local time, set by your browser.
